School of Intelligent Manufacturing and ControlEngineering

The School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering is composed of four departments, namely Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Mechatronics, Department of Automation, and Department of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, as well as the Basic Engineering Teaching and Research Office and the Experiment Center. Currently, it provides 9 undergraduate programs, 5 higher vocational education programs, 1 Master’s degree program--Mechanical Engineering and 2 professional master's degrees in mechanical and electronic information. So far, it has established a market-oriented Intelligent Manufacturing discipline group that follows industrial development trend featuring to train engineering and technical talents meet the demands of intelligent manufacturing fields.

Currently, the School has 182 staff members, including 121 full-time teachers, 15 teachers with senior titles, 46 teachers with associate senior titles, and 97 teachers with doctoral degrees. The Schoolstrives for innovation and excellence to conduct international education and deepen industry-university integration, cultivating plenty of applied innovative talents with a global vision in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

Advantages andCharacteristics

The School carries out the teaching mode that integrates “teaching, learning, doing” and increases investments in the building of training bases. It boasts first-rate modern training sites and technical equipment such as Digital Manufacturing Engineering Center, Smart Manufacturing Factory and Robot System Integration Laboratory. The advanced equipment and facilities provide favorable practices and training conditions forstudents.

By establishing new courses and specializations that follows the trend of advanced manufacturing industry, courses with both theoretical and practical training, online-offline mixed courses, and virtual simulation courses, the School manages to integrate actual production to the courses and enhances teaching quality to help students meet the ability goals and graduationrequirements.

The School adheres to the university-industry cooperation mechanism and hasestablished several off-campus advanced manufacturing bases by cooperating with prestigious companies, including Siemens (China) Co., Ltd, COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd, SMTW, UAES, Shanghai Hitachi Home Appliances Co., Ltd, Shanghai Machine Tool Works Ltd., Shanghai Rabbit CNC Co., Ltd.

The School attaches great importance to international cooperation. Up to now, it has established cooperation programs with over 30 universities in Germany, Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, Ireland, USA, and Canada. Besides, it has launched joint training programs, overseas study programs, and overseas internship programs to provide students with a broad international study and a higher level of study and workingenvironment.
