In order to further promote the scientific research development of School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering, strengthen the cultivation of young and middle-aged backbone teachers, and strive to cultivate a number of excellent young backbone teachers and young and middle-aged academic leaders, on April 17, 2024, the new academic salon of School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering invited Professor Hua Xueming of Shanghai Jiaotong University to make an academic report titled Intelligent Welding Development and Application in the school. Wang Hao, Deputy Director of the Research Department of the university, Wu Dyun, Vice Dean of Research of the School of Intelligent and Control Engineering, teachers of the teaching and research department of Materials Processing and Controlling Engineering, young teachers in related fields, and graduate students of the class of 2023 attended the academic report.

The theme of this report is intelligent welding development and application. The report mainly introduces the development and application of new advanced welding methods, enabling technology of intelligent welding, key technology of intelligent welding system, construction and application cases of IoT-based welding equipment and welding process monitoring platform, application status of machine vision technology in welding technology research, application prospects of artificial intelligence in welding system, and adaptive control of welding process. The report covers the pre-welding visual scanning to determine the welding trajectory, the monitoring of the image recognition of the molten pool during welding and the detection of welding defects after welding, integrating the professional knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Information, Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing majors in the College of Intelligent Control, and taking a step forward in transforming from manual welding to intelligent welding through interdisciplinary integration.
This academic report is a high-level academic report in the field of welding, which is a scientific research feast for both young teachers and graduate students. It not only broadens the scientific research ideas and insights of teachers and students, but also enhances their scientific research interests.
